Product Features
- SET OF FOUR KEGS: This is a set of four 3 gallon stainless steel ball lock kegs (also called Pepsi kegs or Cornelius kegs), which meet NSDA voluntary standards and are NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) approved. Made in Italy, these kegs are perfect for home-brew beer makers that are experimenting with smaller batch sizes. Their sanitary stainless steel construction makes these kegs suitable for storing and dispensing wine, soda, coffee, and kombucha as well as beer.
- TANK BODIES FEATURE LIDS AND HANDLES: On top of each tank, there is a stainless steel handle and an oval opening that allows the tank to be closed by the lid. On the bottom there is a sump to enhance the draining off. Printed on the stainless steel external body surface is information about the tank capacity, identification numbers, and manufacturer. The stainless steel lid fastens tightly to the body and has a pull-ring style pressure release valve.
- SANITARY STAINLESS STEEL BODY: The tanks are made of AISI type 304 stainless steel (1.4301) with No. 2B mill finish steel sheet which fulfills ASTM A240 specification. All inside surfaces are smooth to prevent any possible dirt or contamination from remaining inside after washing and sterilizing. Stainless steel does not react to magnetic attraction and its color does not change due to cleaning or sterilizing.
- BALL LOCK FITTINGS: These kegs feature easy-to-access ball lock fittings that make cleaning very simple. On the top part of each tank there are two welded stems, through which the gas and liquid tubes are putted inside the tank and on top of which the plugs are fixed. To allow quick disconnect with the draft beer system, each tank is equipped with one liquid plug and one gas plug. The gas plug has an incision on the hexagon and the liquid plug does not. They are both clearly marked.
- RUBBER BOTTOM SKIRT: The bottom of each tank is covered with black hot vulcanized natural rubber bonded onto the steel. Four openings in the bottom skirt enhance the drain of water when the keg is upside down. The maximum outer diameter of the rubber part is larger than the maximum outer diameter of the tank, minimizing damage by impact and allowing the keg to be rolled. The overall dimensions of each keg measure 16.5″ tall and 8.5″ in diameter.
